Location description:
Torrevieja, named after an ancient watchtower, has become known for its salt production. Spain produces 4 million tons of salt per year, of which 700,000 tons come (mostly road salt for export, Stand 2014) from the salt flats of Torrevieja. The salt concentration of the Torrevieja Lagoon is increased because brine by means of a tube from the salt mine of Pinoso is conducted into the lagoon. This allows the salt to be harvested all year round.Today, the former fishing village is a multicultural city with a foreign population of 52 percent. The very pleasant coastal climate attracts many rheumatism, heart and asthma patients. The salt lakes and the sea air make sure that Torrevieja is one of the climatically healthiest parts of Europe. The two marinas of Torrevieja are the biggest of its kind in the entire Mediterranean region and have together 1,500 berths. Leisure activities are very important in Torrevieja: kilometers of sandy beaches and coves for bathing friend, exhibitions and concerts for the cultural education, discos, pubs and Casionos for lovers of nightlife - everyone comes here at his own expense. And those who like to explore them, find in Torrevieja the longest walk quay wall on the Mediterranean.The anthem of the place, was composed in 1986 by Ricardo Lafuente.

    “El apartamento está muy bien equipado. Lo peor el olor a cañerías que hay sobre todo al atardecer y alguna que otra cucaracha. El poder ir con mascota, un plus. Umgebung: En los alrededores cercanos, poco comercio”
