Apartment Matilde in Montecarlo
Casa Matilde is located in the centre of the medieval village of Montecarlo in a panoramic position. Ancient walls, a 12th-century fortress and evocative alleys make this small village a fascinating place rich in history. Montecarlo is located a few km from Lucca, on the top of an isolated hill surrounded by olive groves and vineyards.
This Montecarlo panoramic apartment is on the 3rd floor of an old building (Palazzo Belvedere) and consists of a large living area with kitchen, dining area, relaxation corner with sofa bed and TV. A wooden door leads to the master bedroom and bathroom.
From the living area, a stone staircase leads to the panoramic terrace from which you have a view of Lucca hills and the Pisan mountains. The terrace is equipped with tables and chairs to enjoy moments of relaxation or outdoor dining.
On the ground floor of the old building is a restaurant where you can taste typical dishes or request a dinner delivery. The beautiful city of Lucca with its ancient walls is only 20 km away. Florence, Pisa and Versilia beaches can be reached in 30 minutes by car. The numerous wine cellars on the Montecarlo hill are worth a visit for a wine (DOC Bianco and Rosso di Montecarlo) and oil tasting. A few kilometres from Montecarlo, in the municipality of Capannori, there are many monumental residences (Villa Reale, Villa Torrigiani, etc…) built between the 15th and 19th centuries by wealthy families of Lucca. With little more than an hour's drive, it is possible to reach La Spezia and from there take the train or ferry for a visit to the '5 terre'.
